Has a librarian made a difference in your life or gone above and beyond to serve your community? Then show them some love by nominating them for the 2024 I Love My Librarian Award!
The I Love My Librarian Award allows library lovers like you to recognize the accomplishments of exceptional public, school, college, community college, or university librarians. Each year, up to 10 librarians are honored at a ceremony held in their honor and receive a $5,000 cash award.
Since the award was established in 2008, library users nationwide have submitted more than 23,000 nominations detailing how librarians have gone above and beyond in their commitment to inclusivity, literacy, and digital access. Only 150 librarians have received the distinguished honor.
American Library Association (ALA) member leaders will select the award-winning librarians from thousands of nominations, and each selected librarian will receive $5,000 in recognition of their outstanding public service. The award recipients will be honored on stage at the popular I Love My Librarian Award ceremony—also known as the “Oscars for the library world” —at ALA's LibLearnX: The Library Learning Experience, held January 19–22, 2024, in Baltimore. Honorees will receive complimentary LibLearnX registration and a travel stipend as part of their award package, as well.
Nominations for the 2024 award are now open and will be accepted online through September 30, 2023.
