The statuesque Italian model was ubiquitous in the 1990s, appearing on the covers of more than 1,300 romance novels, serving as the spokesperson for I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!, and releasing his own album Fabio After Dark, which features the heartthrob expounding on his philosophy of love. He even appeared on an American Library Association Celebrity READ poster, holding a copy of Peter Benchley’s novel, Jaws (naturally). For a generation, Fabio was synonymous with love and passion.
