Ali Velshi: Libraries Are Indispensable in the Fight for Social Justice

Ali Velshi, host of "Velshi" and chief correspondent for MSNBC, believes libraries are indispensable in the fight for social justice; places where everyone can explore and learn about new worlds, cultures, and perspectives to help create a world of better understanding and equality.

Velshi relayed these thoughts and more in a special message recorded for I Love Libraries at the American Library Association's (ALA) 2024 Annual Conference in San Diego, where he spoke with librarians about his book, “Small Acts of Courage: A Legacy of Endurance and the Fight for Democracy,” a captivating family history that illustrates how small actions can have an outsized political impact.
