Calling all library lovers and audiobook readers—now’s your chance to support libraries AND score a free audiobook.

February is Library Lovers Month, and to celebrate, audiobook company Libro.fm is giving a free audiobook credit to anyone who donates $15 or more to the American Library Association (ALA) or their local public library or library Friends group now through February 28. To claim your free audiobook, upload your proof of donation on Libro.fm’s website and receive a free audiobook credit. When you donate to ALA, you’ll receive an automated receipt in your email inbox.

Donations to ALA support advocacy on behalf of America’s libraries and library workers, professional training and resources for library workers, and building strong libraries for stronger communities. New monthly donors to ALA also receive an exclusive tote bag, virtual author event invites, and an online subscription to Booklist Reader.

Libro.fm, the fundraiser’s sponsor, is a Seattle-based audiobook company that makes it possible for readers to buy audiobooks while supporting their local bookstores. A portion of all one-time purchases and subscriptions through Libro.fm goes to the independent bookstore of the reader’s choosing, and the company has raised millions of dollars for bookstores across the United States.

Libro.fm is also a partner in ALA’s Unite Against Book Bans initiative, which connects, equips, and mobilizes communities to defend the right to read and defeat attempts to censor reading materials.

“Libraries are community resources, and I am so happy that Libro.fm is supporting the whole community of readers during Library Lovers Month,” said Amelia Aldred, deputy director of state and local advocacy at ALA. “It’s a wonderful way to celebrate together. Library lovers can dive into a new book while also supporting libraries. Everyone wins!”

Now more than ever, libraries provide vital resources to communities, including high-speed internet and Wi-Fi, that empower community members to apply for jobs, access telehealth appointments, take online classes, and more. Libraries serve as a lifeline for people during extreme storms, health emergencies, and wildfires by offering things like shelter, food, electricity, heat, and air conditioning. As shared community spaces, libraries are a place for families to participate in activities, young people to explore their interests, and community groups to host meetings and connect.

Donations from the Library Lovers Month fundraiser will support ALA’s work securing these important resources for the cornerstones of our communities.

Give to ALA and support libraries!
