If you’re NPR fanatics like all of us here at I Love Libraries, you were most likely overjoyed to hear Mychal Threets on its news quiz show, “Wait, Wait … Don’t Tell Me!,” this weekend.
The librarian, author, host of PBS’s Reading Rainbow, and this year’s honorary chair of the American Library Association’s National Library Week appeared on the February 7 edition of the weekly show to compete in its “Not My Job” segment, where he answered three questions about another famous rainbow brand—Skittles—to win a prize for a listener.
Did Mychal win the challenge? You’ll have to listen to find out. But in the meantime, here’s a brief exchange between show host Peter Sagal and Threets where they discuss reading traumatizing books as kids.
How you can support libraries
With library funding being gutted and censorship on the rise, supporting libraries is more critical than ever. If you’re looking for a way to help, we urge you to become a Supporter of the American Library Association by donating.
At the American Library Association, we are here to protect libraries — today and for generations to come. What does your donation do? It helps a neighbor gain skills to start a business. It helps a child discover themselves through books and programs. And it helps keep libraries strong, open, and free for everyone.
